About

Sana Healing Collective is a Chicago-based non-profit organization committed to individualized, client-led approaches promoting the well-being of the whole person and community. We are committed to the development of psychedelic-assisted therapy, including ketamine-assisted therapy, along with other integrative practices that support healing, resilience, and connection. Sana consists of a group of multiple providers, including psychologists, psychiatrists, art therapists, and harm reductionists who are all graduates of the Certificate in Psychedelic Therapy and Research program of the California Institute of Integral Studies, the Integrative Psychiatry Institute’s Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Training, or Alchemy Community Therapy Center’s Ketamine Therapy Provider Training.

Mission

At Sana Healing Collective we embrace an ecological understanding of humans, recognizing that mind is inseparable from the body, and people live in the context of their relationships, environment, community, and culture. We aim to realize and integrate Sana, or healing, through a multidisciplinary approach incorporating cutting-edge innovation in mental health, bodywork, group, art, community, and environmental programs. We also recognize time-tested wisdom cultivated over millennia, and strive to weave this knowledge into our work at all levels. We are committed to individualized, client-led approaches that promote the wellbeing of the whole person, their community, and our environment.

Values

At Sana Healing Collective, our values are practices we return to every day. They shape how we care for our clients, how we work with one another, and how we move within the broader community. They guide us toward healing that is collective, relational, and grounded in dignity. They reflect our commitment to shared power, Harm Reduction, accessibility, and deep respect for lived experience, ensuring that everything we build is aligned with the people we serve.

Community: We believe Community is Medicine, and cultivate spaces of connection, care, and belonging, recognizing that healing is a collective process rooted in mutual aid and support.

Collaboration: We commit to operating by consensus, valuing every voice in the decision-making process, and ensuring our work is guided by collective wisdom rather than rigid authority. Our person-centered approach is built on open dialogue, shared power, and co-creation so that we cultivate trust, accountability, and solutions that reflect our community’s needs.

Harm Reduction: We honor each individual’s journey by meeting them where they are with compassion and dignity, recognizing that all behaviors hold meaning, and working together to minimize harm and maximize well-being, autonomy, and informed choice. We view Harm Reduction as a movement which shifts resources and power to the people who are most vulnerable to structural violence, building community for and empowering directly impacted people, and disrupting systems of oppression.

Accessibility: We are committed to breaking down barriers to healing for all. We work to ensure that our services are as accessible as possible by hiring staff that reflect those they are serving, offering facilities that are adaptable to client needs, and maintaining a Community Care Fund to provide financial access for those who need it.

Communication: We practice communication rooted in courage, care, and integrity. We foster open, respectful, and collaborative dialogue in service of transparency, empowerment, and consistency.

Respect: We value the unique characteristics and perspectives of all people, and honor the wisdom, vulnerability, and agency of every person we work with.  Our practices are grounded in integrity, humility, and a deep recognition of each individual’s lived experience.
