Services
Sana provides ketamine-assisted therapy, support to individuals who use psychedelics, and holistic services to promote mental health. We are interested in facilitating healing at the individual, family, community, social, and systemic level. We understand humans in an ecological framework, and so we view the biological, psychological, social, and contextual layers of existence not as separate parts, but as one supersystem. We seek to work holistically in accordance with this perspective.

Please note, due to the volume of inquiries we receive, it may be up to a week before hearing back from us, and we are currently managing a wait list, meaning it is possible to wait a few weeks before we are able to match you with a therapist and schedule your intake appointment.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to the opportunity to work with you soon.
KETAMINE-ASSISTED THERAPY GROUPS
At Sana, we believe that “Community is Medicine” because working in groups heals the individual and the collective. This is powerful, beautiful, and necessary work.
Each participant will first complete individual psychological and medical intake appointments to ensure group ketamine treatment is the best approach for you at this time, and to ensure we organize a group that will work well together. A group of up to 6 participants will then participate in several hours of group preparation sessions in which they will learn to navigate the ketamine experience, set intentions, prepare for integration work, and build cohesion and support among each other. They will participate in three facilitated ketamine experiences together, supported by three facilitators (including the prescriber). The group will engage in integration sessions together following each ketamine session, with additional integration sessions following the ketamine treatment phase. The specifics of each group will be tailored to the needs of each group and its members.
*Our Winter 2025 group for clinicians is now enrolling, to be facilitated by Eric, Valery, and Rick!
Preparation sessions: Tuesdays 1/7, 1/14, & 1/21 at 6:00 - 8:00 pmvia Zoom
Ketamine sessions: Fridays 1/24, 1/31, & 2/7 at 3:00 - 7:00 pm in person
Integration sessions: Tuesdays 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, & 2/18 at 6:00 - 8:00 pm via Zoom
Requirements to participate:
Participants must be clinicians or professional care providers living in Illinois.
Participants will complete an individual intake and medical screening to evaluate for safety, appropriateness of group format, and fit with the group.
We prefer, but don’t necessarily require, that participants have an outside therapist to continue with after the group ends.
Participants need to be able to commit to attending all scheduled sessions above (arrangements will be made in the event of illness or emergency).
Proof of Covid vaccination and on-site rapid tests for in-person sessions (this protects those with chronic health issues, and allows us to avoid having to shut down the group entirely if we catch a positive test proactively).
Cost:
The total cost for all group sessions, individual intake, and medical intake is $2750.
A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due upon intake
Reduced rates are available based on demonstrated financial hardship through our Community Care Fund. We prioritize those who have been subjected to systemic oppression, such as discrimination or trauma based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, migration history, or citizenship status. Please inquire for details.
The group is priced as a package, with no refunds for missed sessions. Due to the nature of the group, it is not possible to replace a group member who misses or drops out, so it is important to be able to commit to the full process.
We are not able to bill insurance for group but can spread out payments over the length of the group if needed.
Please let us know if you’re interested in this opportunity by filling out our services inquiry form and noting your interest in this group. Please specify if you are requesting to apply for a reduced fee for the group.
Individual Ketamine-Assisted Therapy
Ketamine-assisted therapy (KAP) is an approach to integrating the consciousness manifesting properties of ketamine with various psychotherapy practices. Our approach differs from ketamine infusion, which is a purely biological application of ketamine. KAP generally requires fewer ketamine sessions than simple ketamine infusion because we focus on helping you maximize the experience and then deepen and integrate the beneficial aspects afterward. We have developed a comprehensive ketamine-assisted therapy protocol to support your healing. Generally, this process involves several preparatory sessions, followed by weekly ketamine sessions with your therapist present, and then several integration sessions before completion. Maintenance ketamine or integration sessions may follow to maintain your treatment gains. As with our groups, we view the therapeutic relationship as essential to the outcome of treatments and we work collaboratively to individualize treatment to the unique needs of each client.
Individual Psychotherapy
We offer individual psychotherapy on case-by-case basis, depending on fit and therapist availability. As of September 2024, Tricia and Lia are accepting general therapy clients, and Eric is accepting clients who identify as neurodivergent, particularly those who identify with the Autism spectrum or ADHD. You can find bios for our therapists on the “about” section of our site.
Integration GroupS
Similar to our individual sessions, but drawing on the support of the collective, we organize small groups of 5 to 8 participants to engage in sharing and discussion of psychedelic experiences over a period of 8 weeks. Groups are especially useful for working through relational issues, gaining support, and participating in collective healing, congruent with our philosophy that “community is medicine”. At the end of each group, participants have the option of discontinuing, rolling into a new group, or continuing with other services.
Individual Integration Services
For people who have already had experiences with ketamine or other psychedelics, we offer support to process those experiences. We can help, whether you are seeking to work through a challenging experience (sometimes called a bad trip), get clarity on an incomplete experience you are still processing, or connect to and internalize the results of a beneficial experience. Integration may include a range of therapeutic approaches, including acupuncture, art therapy, somatic therapies, mindfulness-based therapies, or other approaches.
Harm Reduction/Safety
Whether you are planning to travel abroad for a psychedelic retreat or engage in other personal use of psychedelics, we can help you explore your reasons for doing so, identify and make a plan to reduce potential risks, and prepare for your care afterward, including providing integration services. We also support the autonomy of our clients in making decisions about whether or not to use any substance, whether legal/prescribed or illegal. Note that we cannot recommend or make referrals to international psychedelic experiences or experiences that are currently illegal in the U.S.
Art Therapy
Creativity and artistic expression offer us powerful tools to make sense of and communicate our experience. While not everyone identifies as an artist, or is experienced or comfortable with artmaking, art therapy is a modality well matched for psychedelic therapy. Psychedelic experiences are difficult to communicate with words. Art therapy can play a critical role, aiding participants in both making sense of, and translating their experiences. Art making engages the body and emotions through the use of materials and media, the cognitive and spiritual in the use of symbol to imbue meaning, and the social through the efforts to communicate an experience and the witnessing of an image by others. Art making can help to facilitate the integration of emotional, cognitive, physical and social aspects of being through utilizing multiple modalities of expression. Art making can be initiated in the preparation phase to focus on core issues to be addressed and set intentions for the journey, in medicine sessions to move through and express the experience, and in the integration phase to make sense of experiences, creating narratives, and communicating experiences or imaginal worlds.
Holistic Mind-Body Integrative Services
We offer practices that help overcome the false divisions of mind, body, and environment. These include acupuncture, yoga, somatic (body focused) therapy, ecotherapy, mindfulness meditation, and art therapy. These approaches may be utilized to aid you throughout the process of ketamine-assisted therapy, or in the integration of other psychedelic experiences you have had (see integration services above).
Spirit lab
Spirit Lab is a collection of services being offered by Sana’s yoga teacher, Jean Edrada. Services include One-on-one and couples/pair yoga and movement, cannabis-supported movement, and cannabis integration services. More details about these services are coming soon!
Psychedelic Safety, Support, and Integration Monthly Public Group
“Psychedelic Safety, Support, and Integration” is a free community-based peer group, not formally affiliated with Sana Healing Collective. Three of our members (Vilmarie, Meghan, and Geoff) have been facilitating this monthly psychedelic-focused group since 2017. The group provides education and discussion around psychedelic related topics, along with building community and promoting safety and harm reduction related to psychedelic use. Participation is free, with donations going toward Sana Healing Collective. Current and upcoming events can be found at www.facebook.com/psychedelicsupport/
Training AND Consultation
We seek to train therapists and the general public on topics related to psychedelics. Topics may include psychedelic-assisted therapy, harm reduction, psychedelic integration, or meditation-based approaches. As trainings are scheduled, they will be listed on our "Events" page of our website. Please click to learn more and inquire about our 6-month KAP Consultation Group for Therapists.
Knowledge Generation and Sharing
Sana members regularly engage in research and conference presentations to create and disseminate knowledge. We also support the Council for Spiritual Practices Statement on Open Science, and are willing to share our materials and research free of charge upon request.
