Virtual Monthly Psychedelic Integration Group

Connect with Community to process non-ordinary states of consciousness

Psychedelic experiences can bring up questions, emotions, and insights that take time and support to process. Sana's monthly Psychedelic Integration Groups offer a welcoming, supportive space to reflect on experiences, share with others, and explore ways to meaningfully integrate insights into everyday life. Come as you are; no prior experience necessary.

Whether your psychedelic experiences are recent or from years ago, integration can be an ongoing process. These monthly gatherings offer a nonjudgmental, harm-reduction-oriented space to explore experiences, ask questions, share perspectives, and connect with community.

The topics for our integration series are inspired by the article written by Geoff, Mesphina, and Eric, Psychedelic integration: An analysis of the concept and its practice, which is also the foundation for the Multidisciplanary Association for Psychedelic Studies’s Integration Station program, which Vilmarie helped develop.

Flyer for a psychedelic integration group dream ceremony on December 5th, 4:00-5:15 AM CST via Zoom for $40.

Our inaugural monthly integration group will feature a DREAM CEREMONY, facilitated by Sana co-founder, Geoff BathJe!

A collective practice of dreaming, listening, and guidance.

We spend roughly a third of our lives asleep, and much of that time dreaming, whether we remember our dreams or not. Dreams are a rich source of information, with cultures all around the world valuing them and utilizing them in different ways. Yet, modernity has devalued dreams. This group will be a chance to re-engage with dreams. A small group will wake early to share dreams, listen to one another, and explore what our dreams might offer to our waking lives.

Date: Saturday, December 5th

Time: 4:00 am - 5:15 am CST (yes, you read that right - this time is intended to make use of immediate recall of dream material if possible)

Cost: $40. Discounts are available for existing Sana Community Care Clients and those with financial need (please email sana@sanahealingcollective.org to inquire about discounts).

Will I get enough attention in a group setting? Doesn’t dream interpretation take a lot of time? This is not psychotherapy or conventional dream analysis. In those approaches, it can take a lot of reflection to take the images or dreams, reflect on their meaning, and then put together all of those meanings into some insight into the unconscious mind. But, dreams can also be seen as sources of knowledge about the world, not just the mind. Rather than asking “What does this dream represent about my unconscious mind?” we will shift toward “What did I encounter in my dream, and what is it telling me about situations I’m facing, my world, or even my plans for the day?”

Why is this group in the middle of the night instead of the next day? Dreams tend to be devalued as sources of wisdom, particularly in modern Western culture. The point of waking early is to catch you when you’ve just come from the world of dreams, and rather than immediately abandoning that world upon waking as you face the demands of the day, the community collectively attends to it. This tends to give dreams much more weight and recall ability than writing it down in the morning and talking about it later in the day. Also, traditionally, this practice may inform how you approach your day afterward.

Do I need to have had a psychedelic experience to join? No. This group is open to anyone, although many people find dream content becomes more vivid or relevant prior to or following a psychedelic experience, during preparation or integration.

What if I have a strange, disturbing, or frightening dream? You are welcome to bring it, although you aren’t expected to share anything you don't want to. We'll approach dreams gently and without interpreting what they mean about your mind.

What if I can’t remember any dreams the night of the dream ceremony? It is not a failure if you don’t remember. The dream ceremony is a social setting in which people bring whatever they have from the night into community and conversation. It is about valuing dreams and paying more attention to them. You might learn new ways of relating to your dreams even if you don’t have one to share.

What do I need to do to prepare? Simply set an intention before going to sleep to remember a dream. Upon awakening, you can make a few notes. We won’t share every detail in group, but pay attention to the main features (characters, animals, plants, places, or events). When you wake up, it is suggested to make some uncaffeinated tea of your preference. You can have this ready before going to sleep by putting out a mug and keeping a kettle full of water ready to be heated. Plan to have a dark background and minimal light while on Zoom so as not to make the screen too bright for others.
