Yoga Thursdays at Sana Healing Collective with Jean

  • Sana Healing Collective 3324 W North Ave Chicago, Illinois United States (map)

Join us at Sana Healing Collective in Chicago on most Thursdays from 7:00–8:00 PM for a gentle, beginner-friendly yoga class open to people of all experience levels. Whether you are completely new to yoga, returning to your mat after some time away, or have an established practice, this welcoming community yoga class offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with your breath, and cultivate greater presence in your body and mind.

Our weekly yoga classes are rooted in the belief that all bodies and all levels of experience are welcome. You do not need to be flexible, athletic, experienced, or familiar with traditional yoga practices to participate. Instead, our classes invite you to explore movement at your own pace, listen to your body, and discover what feels supportive for you in the moment. We honor the uniqueness of each person's experience and encourage you to come exactly as you are.

Upcoming Dates:
September 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th

October 1st, 8th, and 15th

These community yoga classes are led by Jean Edrada (300hr+ RYT), who has been teaching yoga for more than 11 years throughout Chicagoland and beyond. Jean approaches yoga as an invitation to listen inward and develop a deeper relationship with yourself rather than as a practice of achieving a particular pose or physical ideal.

Jean believes that we are each our own best teacher and that an innate wisdom lives within each of us to guide our healing and growth. Her classes encourage participants to cultivate awareness, connect with the breath, and explore both strength and softness through mindful movement.

While Jean's sequences can be physically engaging, her teaching style is light-hearted, playful, inclusive, and invitational. She offers options and encourages participants to make choices based on their own bodies and needs. This creates a supportive environment where you can explore yoga without pressure to perform, compete, or keep up with anyone else.

Whether you are looking for beginner yoga in Chicago, a way to incorporate more mindful movement into your week, or simply an opportunity to pause and reconnect with yourself, our Thursday evening yoga classes provide space to move, breathe, and be present.

Yoga Rooted in Community Care

At Sana Healing Collective, we believe that Community Is Medicine. Our yoga programming reflects the same values that guide our broader work: accessibility, harm reduction, connection, and care. We believe wellness practices should be welcoming and accessible rather than something reserved for people who can afford expensive memberships or feel comfortable in traditional fitness environments.

Classes are offered on a $15–$25 sliding scale for the general public. Existing Sana Community Care Fund clients may also be eligible for a discounted rate. If you are an existing Sana client, please email sana@sanahealingcollective.org to inquire about available discounts.

Our sliding-scale model allows participants to contribute at a level that works for their circumstances. Paying toward the higher end of the range helps make it possible for others to participate at a lower cost. In this way, each person's contribution becomes part of a larger practice of community care and collective wellness.

You do not need to have previous yoga experience to join us. Simply bring yourself, your breath, and a willingness to explore.

What to Bring

Please bring slippers or socks to change into from your street shoes. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, and bring anything else that helps you feel comfortable during your practice.

Come for an hour of grounding movement, mindful breathing, connection, and collective renewal in a welcoming community space in Chicago.

We look forward to practicing with you.

All bodies are welcome. Come as you are. Community is Medicine.
